UK wine writer Tim Atkin MW is renowned for his authoritative in-depth wine reports from around the world. In his latest special report from Argentina, Atkin is full of praise for the wines of Trivento. Most notably, the writer is full of praise for the latest 2021 vintage of Trivento Reserve Malbec, which is the UK's best-selling single wine. Awarding it the title of Great Value Red Wine of the Year in the report, Tim Atkin says
"Given the volumes involved, the quality and consistency of this wine are remarkable. In fact, this may be the best vintage yet. Very lightly wooded, it’s an equal blend of grapes from Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley, with violet and rose petal perfume, fine tannins, tangy black cherry and blueberry fruit and a vibrant finish. 92 points"
The report is also very complimentary about the two tiers above the Reserve Malbec, Private Reserve Malbec and Golden Reserve Malbec. Both of these were awarded 93 points, and Atkin says of the Private Reserve
"A tribute to Germán Di Cesare’s skills as a blender as well as winemaker, this is another large cuvée that’s commendably consistent. Stylishly wooded in 30% French oak, it’s grippy, juicy, perfumed and concentrated, all bramble, plum and fennel, with medium body and palate caressing tannins."
