Amelia Chardonnay, the super-premium white wine from Chile's unique Limari region, has just been named 'White Wine of the Year' by Tim Atkin MW in his Chile Wine Report 2025.
For this latest report, Tim tasted over 1,100 Chilean wines. Amelia Chardonnay was awarded 97 points, the highest for a white wine in this classification.
Tim Atkin described the 2023 vintage of Amelia Chardonnay as follows:
“It’s good to see Chile’s biggest winery making one of the country’s outstanding white wines under the guidance of the brilliant Marcelo Papa. Sourced from the legendary Quebrada Seca vineyard, this is a salty, stony, Pacific Ocean-influenced style of Chardonnay with no malolactic, impressive focus and balance, layers of toast, tangerine and waxed lemons and a pithy, mouth-watering finish. World class.”
Congratulations to Marcelo Papa and the team for a remarkable achievement.
